Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Simon Yao immigrated to the United States in 1990. Inspired by his vision of the East with his experiences upon moving to the west, Yao's photography expresses the perfect amount of modern sophistication along with a touch of timeless elegance.
After graduating from The Ohio State University, Simon began his professional career in 1999 as a full-time wedding photographer. His signature photography style has made a tremendous positive impact on the Columbus wedding market and enabled Simon Yao Studio to become one of the most elite wedding photographers in the region. As he has continued to cultivate his work over the years, the studio has evolved beautifully to meet the growing demands of his portrait work from both existing and new clients.
Today Simon’s work includes a splendid fusion of weddings, families, children, babies, professional headshots, and a limited number of special commercial projects. During the past 25 years, he has documented the growth of many children from babies into young adults; from high school seniors into proud parents.
Simon enjoys being a frequent photo contributor to popular wedding websites and beautiful lifestyle magazines. He is also passionate about architectural studies and interior design.
What motivates him is his love of photography and working with clients to create exceptional photographs. His genuine, warm personality, combined with absolute professionalism, allows his clients to feel at ease, yet at the same time, reflects his dedication for the craft of photography.
